Choosing help Agency, freelancer or coaching: how to choose
Once you decide to build a personal brand, the next question is who helps you. There are three common options. Each solves a different problem.
A freelancer: good edits, no direction
A freelance editor typically costs ₹25,000 a month or more in India, so ₹3 lakh+ a year. You get better-looking videos. What you don't get is anyone responsible for what you post, or why. So you keep guessing, and growth often stalls.
Right for you if: you already know exactly what to post and just need help with editing.
An agency: done for you, but rented
A typical agency charges ₹1 to 1.5 lakh a month. Their team writes and posts in your name. It saves your time, but the voice is a copywriter's version of you, and the day you stop paying, posting and growth stop too.
Right for you if: you want zero involvement and are happy to keep paying every month.
Coaching: you learn, and the skill stays
With coaching, you create the content and someone experienced guides the strategy. It takes a few focused hours a week. In return you get a clear plan, honest feedback, and a skill you keep for life.
Right for you if: you want your own voice, and you want growth that keeps going after the coaching ends.
The quick comparison
- Who owns the strategy: nobody (freelancer), their team (agency), you with a plan (coaching)
- Whose voice: yours without direction, a copywriter's, yours sharpened
- When you stop paying: back to square one, everything stops, you keep growing
You can also combine them
Many people keep their editor and add coaching for the strategy. In 100x Engine, members hand their editor our SOP for editors, so every reel is cut the way that works.
